From a school bike to the World Championships Montréal
From a school bike to the World Championships start line in Montréal. At just 21, Rwanda’s Jazilla Mwamikazi has already come a remarkable way.
Growing up in Rwanda, she was inspired by the Tour du Rwanda. Today, she is the national U23 time trial champion and has gained experience both on the road and on the mountain bike.
In 2024, she already represented Rwanda at the Olympic Games in Paris.

Now, a new chapter awaits: on Thursday, September 24, she will line up in Montréal for the U23 road race at the World Championships.
Over the past few weeks, she has been preparing in the heart of the Swiss Alps ready to surprise the international peloton in her Rwandan champion’s jersey.
From the dirt roads of Rwanda to the world stage: for Mwamikazi, the finish line is still a long way off.
